The City of San Antonio–Aviation Department’s Residential Acoustical Treatment Program (ATP) was implemented to acoustically treat and greatly reduce the overall noise impact on residential communities surrounding the San Antonio International Airport. Services include the review of design documents provided by the Acoustical Treatment Consultant for code compliance, industry standard acoustical design practices and confirmation of FAA funding eligibility criteria.
Foster CM Group is currently providing Project Management and Construction Inspection services to assure construction is carried out in conformity with contract documents and in accordance with customary engineering practices. Additional duties include preparing daily construction progress reports and monthly “construction activity observed” reports and submitting them to the City for review. Foster CM Group also has provided Acoustical Compliance and Interior Air Quality Testing in order to validate the acoustical performance of installed products, ensuring that the exhaust ventilation strategy prevents potential combustion spillage problems once a home is further “tightened” by the ATP acoustical modifications. The program, currently in its 10th year, has involved more than 1,500 homes to date. The current phase will include 900 apartments at various locations and 80 homes.
Utilizing multiple Small, Woman-Owned and Minority-Owned Business firms to assist with the architectural review, mechanical and electrical engineering review and ventilation consultation/testing, the San Antonio International Airport and Foster CM Group proudly received the Federal Aviation Administration’s “2010 DBE Advocate & Partner Award” for this project.
