Foster CM Group currently partnered with ChildSafe, acting as Project Manager overseeing the development and construction of their new $33 million Harvey E. Najim Children & Family Center, located along IH-10 at East Houston Street near Salado Creek.
Situated within 36 acres of green space, the new campus offers pedestrian access and close proximity to public transportation, making ChildSafe’s services even more available for those in need.
The Harvey E. Najim Children & Family Center encompasses a beautiful and inviting entryway that welcomes clients into peaceful and comforting interior spaces. The new 62,472-square-foot administrative facility (1st floor – 40,337 SF; 2nd floor – 22,135 SF) houses ChildSafe staff and their Multi-disciplinary Team Partners and includes meeting spaces, a training space for up to 250 people, a large breakroom, an exercise room, and a resource room containing emergency needs for clients, as well as space for future growth. Furthermore, the facility utilizes a variety of sustainable design features, which preserve the environment and significantly reduce the long-term maintenance and operation costs, allowing ChildSafe to focus their dollars directly on programs and services for children and families in need.
The building is surrounded by multiple green spaces including outdoor therapy and activity areas for clients as well as respite areas for staff members who continually provide essential services under extraordinary conditions. The outdoor areas are heavily landscaped with nature paths, a healing garden and a courtyard fountain. Two (2) corner sections of the 1st floor roof have a sustainable roof with plants, lighted walkways, art, and bench seating.
