Foster CM Group 2019 Summer Interns Gain Valuable Experience

Over the summer, Foster CM Group hosted four Dallas/Fort Worth area high school students who completed hands-on internships at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The interns, who were placed into paid positions that aligned with their future career interests, networked and gained valuable experience from A/E/C industry mentors.

The interns were paired with airport staff in roles that aligned with their future interests. For example, one intern, Dorien Casey-Franklin, is interested in a career in Information Technology and Cybersecurity, so he worked with and shadowed personnel in the IT/Cybersecurity department.

Luis Chabes and Austin Person worked with the Energy, Transportation and Asset Management (ETAM) departments. Luis is starting at University of North Texas this year with the intention of completing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Kaylyn Harris was paired with a Project Coordinator in the Design Code and Construction (DCC) department.

Each intern was required to undergo a minimal background check and fingerprinting in order obtaining public airport badges for identification and to allow them access into the DCC building without having to be escorted each time.
