San Saba Hall, at the University of Texas at San Antonio, is made up of two, 4-level buildings connected by a Commons area. The $40 million facility is 187,300-square-feet and houses 618 students on the UTSA campus.
Foster CM Group, a subconsultant to the Program Management team, provided Construction Inspections/Quality Assurance as an Owner’s Representative to assure that project was constructed to meet the approved Contract Drawings and Specifications, documenting RFIs, Change Orders, reviewing Submittals and Shop drawings and reviewing Pay-Applications for percentage of work accomplished. Our project responsibilities and tasks included coordinating and monitoring material testing, air balance testing and systems testing such as Fire Alarm, Fire Protection, Security and other integrated systems used in large academic facilities; monitoring job site safety; and providing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections.
We established a Punch List to assure completion of items listed and are responsible for monitoring As-Built drawings and Closeout procedures including Operation and Maintenance manuals as well as scheduling inspections, outages, access control and coordinating Contractor activities with facilities and campus operations.
